A Murray's Pond Wedding // Adam + Lesley
The Bride & Groom
Adam is from Bonavista and Lesley is from St. John’s. We were introduced by mutual friends 7 years ago. Interesting little fact is that when Lesley decided to move to Toronto in 2015 that was when Adam realized he couldn’t be without me and we’ve been together ever since! We’ve lived in way too many cities to count over the last few years but are finally settled back in St. John’s and happy to be back with our family and friends.
Newfoundland Wedding Vendor Reviews:
Dress: Dress is from a boutique in Toronto called Sash and Bustle.
Suit: Custom suit, Byron’s in St. John’s.
Decor: Lacy Rose Design. I had heard so many great things from people that had used Lacy for their weddings so I knew she was someone I wanted to talk to right away. After our first phone call, I knew immediately I had to have her and I am so glad she was available be. She is awesome - professional, a great listener, goes above and beyond and is just so nice and sweet. Plus, her work is amazing. Our decor was exactly what we wanted and more.
Photography: JP Mullowney. This was probably the easiest choice for us - I’ve known Jimmy for a long time so knew we would be comfortable with him during the wedding day (which is so important). He has such a great personality, has the ability to put you at ease when the nerves are high and magically can make you feel natural in front of a camera! We had also seen his work from people we know and fell in love with the way he captured every moment. Since we’ve received our wedding photos, we feel as if we can re-live the day because of all of the moments captured. Also, I don’t know how, but he managed to capture close to everyone that was at the wedding on camera - our house is going to be full of these memories because we can’t pick just a couple - we love them all. And one other thing - I loved how he helped with the planning (ex: putting together a day of timeline which was SO helpful) and how organized he was - so professional and helped ease my mind.
His pictures are beautiful and after seeing our wedding photos, we without a doubt made the right choice - I cannot imagine what it would have been like without him - highly recommend!
Flowers: The Flower Studio. They are my go-to for flowers regularly so that was an easy decision. They are flower wizards - everything was beautiful.
Hair by Sound Spa and Makeup by Sarah Peach and Stacy Baker. Both of these were easy choices - Sound is my regular salon and Sarah & Stacey are just the best. My bridal party, my Mom and I all felt so beautiful thanks to Sound and Sarah/Stacey.
Other vendor acknowledgements:. Rodney Philpott Designs did my alterations and I cannot say enough about him (Rodney). He was so easy to work with and on top of altering the dress to fit exactly how I wanted it, he also worked with me to make custom gloves that incorporated pearls from my Mom’s wedding dress. He really is amazing.
Wedding cake: Canvas Cakes.
Rings - Diamond Design
Wedding Music: Dave White - had the dance floor going and the guests singing - so much fun!
Wedding venue: Murray’s Pond Fishing & Country Club.
Wedding Commissioner: Craig Murphy.
Brides favourite moment:
I was so nervous before I walked down the aisle but as soon I saw Adam, it all went away and I was just so happy and excited to marry him
Grooms favourite moment:
Seeing Lesley for the first time when she walked out
Advice to couples currently planning their wedding:
Don’t spend too much time on the small things
Take time for each of you to write down the top 3 things that you want your wedding to be/feel like and make decisions based on that- keep reminding yourselves that it’s about the two of you - do what makes you happy and 3) don’t let the planning take over your life - pick a day or night to talk about it and then put it away for awhile.
