Glendenning Wedding - Sara + Steve // St. John's Wedding Photography

My 2017 Wedding season kicked off a couple weeks ago with Sara + Steve's Glendenning Wedding. These two were such an awesome couple to work with. I asked them a few questions about their wedding day so that readers could really have a better idea from the couple's point of view how they choose their vendors. I also asked them to offer up a tip for future bride and groom's wedding planning in St. John's.

The Bride & Groom: Stephen and I have known each other since I was 18 and he was 20, but our families have known each other our whole lives (our moms went through nursing school together). We took some time apart a few years ago, but quickly found our way back to each other and immediately knew nothing had changed between us.

How long did it take you to plan your wedding? We got engaged on Boxing Day 2015, and we set a date right away, but I didn't start seriously planning until about June of last year. We're in the midst of building our first home, so that took priority for a while.

Vendors you chose and why:

Dress: I bought a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown from The Model Shop. They are the only bridal salon in the city who carry Maggie gowns and that style was what I was most drawn too.

Suit: Moore's. We rented the groomsman tux's, but had a custom tux made for Stephen.

Decor: Event 3Sixty (Kristyna Adamova) did all our decor and everything turned out even better than I imagined. I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted the room to look like and she nailed it.

Photography: Couldn't be happier we chose you to capture our day. It was so fun, relaxed and organized, and from the few sneak peeks we've seen, you captured all the best moments of the day.

Flowers: Kristyna Adamova of Event 3Sixty did an outstanding job on our florals. I'm still not over my bridal bouquet. It was above and beyond what I imagined. They matched the vibe I wanted for the day perfectly!

Hair and Makeup: Sound Salon did our hair and makeup for the day. They had the whole salon available to us and did a beautiful job getting us ready. All the girls looked stunning!

Brides favourite moment: When I was at the top of the aisle before we started walking down, he waved a little wave at me. It's something he does anytime we're in a crowd and catch each other's eye, it was just a sweet little moment before it all started.

Grooms favourite moment: The whole bridal party broke into "Young, Wild, and Free" on the party bus on the way to the reception. We were all having such a good time and it really kicked off the festivities of the night. Everyone was so happy.

Advice to couples currently planning their wedding: It's supposed to be the most fun day and it really is just about the two of you. So don't get overwhelmed by the little things, don't overspend because you really don't notice the difference, and enjoy the process of planning cause it all goes by so fast.
